  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  CHAPTER ONE

  Darian

Darian D’Arq drew his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around them as he shivered in the cold air of the cell. He’d crawled into a corner, trying to hide his nakedness and escape the eyes of his captors. There were three of them. Three tall, muscled Alphas from the only planet in the Hoda Solar System that he had hoped he’d never see with his own two eyes – Alpha Tyron. He’d heard stories about it. His family, friends, and even teachers on his home planet Karma Minor had warned him about it. Home to the bloodthirsty warriors that protected the Hoda System and its endless riches from the outside, it was the only planet where only Alphas and Betas lived. Males and females, they could not mate and could not produce progeny without the Omegas they demanded or kidnapped from the other planets. They were entitled. After all, they had kept the enemy at bay for centuries. They were the reason why the Hoda System thrived and its numerous races never lacked anything. When a Tyronian ship descended on a neighboring planet and the warriors grabbed the Omegas that their hearts and loins desired, no one batted an eye. To oppose them was madness.

Since he’d entered puberty and the heat cycles had started, Darian had hoped and prayed this would never happen to him. All the Omegas on Karma Minor were beautiful males and females, raised to become the perfect mates, educated in the arts, including the art of love. With so many exquisite Omegas to draw the attention of the Alpha Tyronians, maybe he had a chance. Maybe young Darian D’Arq had a chance at a normal life with a kind, loving Alpha from his own planet.

  Foolish dreams.

The more he grew, the less he could hide his perfect genes, the genes that made him look like the beautiful men of Ancient Terra, a world long lost. Only myths and legends had survived. Some said Terra was destroyed when its sun went supernova. But there was no actual proof that had ever happened. For all they knew, Terra and its solar system could still be somewhere out there. Others said the ancient planet had found a way to travel to a parallel dimension. And then there were the less insane theories that said the Terrans had built a cloaking system so powerful that they could hide from all outsiders. As far as Darian was concerned, he couldn’t care less what had happened to Ancient Terra. He would’ve been happier if the scientists in the Hoda System had never even found out about its existence. Then, no one would have made this crazy obsession for the beautiful males and females of Terra, an obsession that spread to the Alpha Tyronians, who had now made it their mission to only mate with those Omegas that resembled the noble race.

His lush blond hair and pale blue eyes had proved to be his damnation. They’d come in the middle of the night, barged through the front door of his parents’ home as if they owned the place, and asked where his room was. His mother must have been mortified. For sure, she hadn’t been the one to give him away. His father, however... He recognized the strangers as the protectors and saviors of the galaxy and had pointed them in the direction of Darian’s room. He shivered as he remembered how they’d burst into his bedroom, snatched him out of his warm bed, and whisked him away before he had time to rub the sleep out of his eyes. They hadn’t given him a chance to say goodbye to his family. They hadn’t given him a chance to beg for his freedom, either. Gagged and stripped naked, the three barbarians had shoved him in a dark, cramped room on their ship. Before he knew it, they were landing on Alpha Tyron and then hauling him into this cold, horrible cell.

Darian felt hot tears streaming down his face. He buried his head in his arms so they wouldn’t see him cry. He clenched his jaw and bit down on his tongue to keep himself from whimpering. They were standing there, outside the cell, looking down at him as if they weren’t sure whether they had made the right choice or not. Maybe they hadn’t expected a small, shivering mess of an Omega. Maybe they had hoped he would fight. But Darian didn’t have it in him. Besides, he knew that if he fought, kicked and scratched, he would probably arouse them more than impress them in any other way. Alpha Tyronians were twisted like that. If they weren’t going to return him to his home planet or, at least, give him back his clothes, then he wanted them gone. He wanted to be left alone so he could cry and wail in peace. He needed time and space to wrap his head around the fact that he’d just been kidnapped by a race of aliens who wanted him for one thing and one thing only – breeding.

“Come on, let’s leave him be,” one of the men said. “He’ll come around, eventually.”

They all stalked down the dark corridor, and silence fell over the dungeon. Darian didn’t move for a full half hour. He allowed himself to whimper and shake under the force of his falling tears, and when the pain subsided, he almost felt betrayed by his own body. His heartbeat calmed down and his chest relaxed. The adrenaline that had been rushing through his veins since he’d been grabbed from his own bed was slowly dissipating, and he realized just how cold he was. He looked up and studied his surroundings. His jaw dropped when he saw what was standing in the middle of his cell.

The cage was tall, made of pure gold, and the thick bars were adorned with precious stones. The base of it was round and as wide as a bed, covered in soft pillows and rich furs. Darian moved on four legs and carefully approached the cage. It was the only object in the room, which meant that he was supposed to sleep in it. The door was open, and the key was on the outside, in the lock. He bet the idea was for him to crawl inside and lock himself in of his own accord.

  “No,” he whispered. “Never.”

He looked up at the ceiling and the walls and saw there was no window. The little light that helped him see in the thick darkness was coming from a lamp somewhere down the hall. He realized he was still on all fours, cursed under his breath, and stood up. As awkward as he felt standing like that, in the middle of the cell, naked and vulnerable, it was better than crawling on the floor like an animal. That was what they wanted. He wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction.

He walked along the walls and inspected every nook and cranny. His heart jumped when his hand found something that felt like a door knob. He blinked determinedly, trying to see the door he’d just discovered. He turned the knob, and the door opened. His heart was now hammering in his chest. Maybe he’d found a way out? Unlikely, but hope never hurt anyone, right?

“It’s just a bathroom,” he sighed, disappointed. A fancy bathroom, but that didn’t make him feel any better. “There are no towels... Figures.”

If he wanted to cover his nakedness, then he’d have to crawl into the cage and grab some sheets and furs. No, he wasn’t going to humiliate himself like that. He’d rather freeze on the cold stone floor than
touch the gold cage and what was in it. He used the bathroom quickly, then washed his hands and face. As he waited for the water to dry on his skin, he looked at himself in the mirror. A pair of pale blue eyes looked back at him, and he almost didn’t recognize himself. It had only been a couple of hours since he’d last seen his planet as he’d been ushered to the Tyronian spaceship, and huge purple circles were already forming under his eyes. His full lips were pale and chapped, so he grabbed a glass and filled it with water. The least he could do was keep himself hydrated. He gulped down the water and ran his hands through his curly blond hair. It almost reached his shoulders now, and even though he loved it, he would have given anything for a pair of scissors. Everyone knew that long hair was bad news when one was kidnapped. He imagined one of the Alphas sinking his hand into his locks and pulling his head back. He shivered.

“It’s going to be okay,” he told himself. “It’s going to be...” His voice cracked. He closed his eyes and tears rolled down his cheeks. “Who am I kidding? Three Alpha Tryonians have just decided I’m the Omega they want. They’ll never let me go.”

He allowed himself to cry and hurt for as long as he needed, and when he was too tired to stand in front of the mirror, he finally crawled into the large bathtub. It was better than sleeping on the floor.

  Trav

Trav was pacing the floor like a Numerian lion in a cage too small for his frame. Not that the lions of Numer could ever be captured and caged... Kron and Valj had said to leave the Omega alone tonight. He’d come around, they said. But Trav just couldn’t see it. And now, he couldn’t possibly sleep peacefully in his king-sized bed knowing that a sweet, juicy Omega was locked up in their dungeon with a golden bejeweled cage in place of a bed. Had he given up his pride and crawled to sleep inside it? Had he covered his virginal body with the furs Trav and his mates had provided? Trav himself had hunted down one of the beasts on whose fur Darian D’Arq could have been sleeping right now. And Kron and Valj thought he could just keep his distance when the temptation to go down there and see the Omega was so strong?!

He stopped in front of the tall windows, his fists squeezed tightly at his sides. The capital city of Alpha Tyron looked incredible at night. Because all Tyronians were genetically engineered since puberty to see in the dark, there was no need for street illumination, so there was no light pollution. Only the stars and the twin moons lit the houses, the narrow alleys, the night clubs, bars and restaurants the Tyronians took by storm at nightfall. A dozen drinks or so could make them forget the day’s stress and worries. If the Alphas and Betas had no Omegas to go to at home, then they’d spend their nights in clubs. Partying was better than going home to an empty house. Two nights ago, Trav himself had fallen asleep in a dingy bar, his head on a sticky table and his hand still gripping a tankard of ale. Kron and Valj had been at home, making plans to find and kidnap the most beautiful male in the entire galaxy. When they had set their eyes on Darian D’Arq and showed him his picture, Trav had known his drinking nights were over.

“I have to see him,” he growled.

He turned on his heels, grabbed a shirt, and put it on and buttoned it up as he descended the stairs to the dungeon. He’d left his long, black hair loose on his wide shoulders, and he would have skipped the shirt, but he didn’t want to scare the Omega. He didn’t think sweet Darian was ready to see the enhancements on his big, ripped body. The Tyronians were warriors and protectors. Unfortunately, when they were born, their bodies were just like anyone’s in the galaxy. Normal. But they couldn’t afford to be normal when they had a whole solar system to defend against greedy enemies. Once they hit puberty, each boy and girl went through genetic mutations and additions to make their bodies stronger, quicker, and more skilled. Trav had chosen an enhancement that would give him both strength and pleasure. He didn’t think the Omega was ready to see it, though.

He stopped in front of the locked cell door and blinked in surprise.

“What the hell? Where is he?”

His voice sounded deep and rough in the dark. He grabbed the keys and unlocked the door. The Omega was nowhere in sight, and he certainly wasn’t hiding in the cage, under the pillows and furs, either. The fancy, expensive cage they had prepared for him looked completely undisturbed. He turned around and saw the door to the bathroom was cracked open. A smirk grew on his lips. As he stepped into the bathroom, his bare feet didn’t make a sound on the stone floor. He couldn’t feel the cold. His blood ran too hot to be disturbed by the chilly air, but he wondered about the Omega. His body was tall and athletic, but fragile. When he saw him sleeping in the bathtub, curled up in fetal position, rage poured through Trav’s veins.

“Is it pride or stupidity?!” His booming voice cut through the silence of the cell, startling Darian, who tried to make himself even smaller. He stomped toward him and grabbed him by the arm. “Tell me, which is it? You’d rather freeze to death than be a good puppy and crawl into your cage?”

The Omega’s big blue eyes were fixed on him, but his pretty lips stayed shut. Shock and terror had drained the blood out of his cheeks. Or, it could have been the cold just as well…

Trav hauled him out of the tub and pushed him toward the gold cage. The Omega stumbled and fell on his hands and knees.

  “Get in there!”

  “N-no...”

  “What was that?”

He dropped to one knee and leaned over Darian’s small frame, his face coming closer to his.

  “What did you say, puppy?”

Although he was shaking with fear and cold, the Omega didn’t back down. His eyes were now fixed on the floor, and he didn’t make any move to cover his naked body.

“I said no. I will not get inside the cage. I’m not a dog.”

Trav snorted. “Well, well... I didn’t say you were a dog. I said you were a puppy.”

  “I’m not a puppy.”

He couldn’t help himself. He’d promised Kron and Valj that he wouldn’t touch Darian in their absence, but the Omega was just too enticing. How could he resist when he was on his hands and knees, ass slightly up in the air, back arched... His smooth, perfect skin was just begging Trav to run his hand all over it, which he did. Darian shivered under his touch. His breath hitched, and Trav felt his cock grow hard in his tight pants. His hand reached the small of the Omega’s back and stopped right above his round, firm ass cheeks. Just a few inches lower. Kron and Valj wouldn’t mind... And he wasn’t going to do anything, anyway. He just wanted to rest his thumb against that small, virgin entrance and feel the Omega throb with anticipation.

  “Please stop.”

There was a subtle sob in Darian’s voice, and it made Trav remove his hand at once. He stood up with a pained grunt. Coming here had been a mistake. How was he supposed to fall asleep now that he had blue balls?

“You’ll break,” the Alpha said in a low, calm voice. “One of these days... You’ll crawl into your cage, lock yourself up, and wait for me to come claim you. You’ll beg for me to claim you.”

  The Omega didn’t say anything.

“You don’t have to stay in this cell, you know. You could have a cozy room just to yourself, with a nice bathroom, towels, and everything you need. All you need to do is get inside the cage and show me... show us that you’ve accepted your fate. We’ll take good care of you, puppy. We know you come from a wealthy family. We can offer you the same lush life, if not even better. Quit being so stubborn, get inside your cage, sleep like a good puppy, and who knows? Tomorrow night, you might sleep in a normal bed.”

Darian was still silent. Trav waited for a few minutes, then rolled his eyes and walked out of the cell, leaving him there, in front of the open cage. He could have grabbed him and shoved him inside himself, but that wasn’t the point. The point was for the Omega to make the choice and relinquish his body and soul.

“Suit yourself.” He locked the cell. “See you tomorrow, puppy.

; Valj

“Where were you?” he asked Trav between gritted teeth. “What did you do?”

Trav dragged in a breath and forced a smile to his lips.

“Why do you think I did anything?”

“Because the Omega is distressed and in pain. I can feel him.”

Trav shrugged and made to walk past Valj. The tall, brown-haired man stopped him with a firm hand on his chest. Trav furrowed his dark, thick brows.

  “He’s terrified.”

“Serves him right,” Trav growled. “He’s stubborn. He’d rather be cold than sleep in the bed we provided.”

  “Because that’s not a bed.”

  “Are you questioning my methods?”

“Guys, come on. Break it up.” Kron stepped between them.

Valj relaxed his shoulders. If Kron hadn’t separated them, he would have spat into Trav’s face that yes, he did, in fact, question his methods. Kidnapping and breaking Omegas before breeding was a long-standing tradition on their planet. Valj wasn’t about to deny that it did work, but it was hard when he could feel all the Omega’s emotions. If he focused hard enough, he could almost hear some of his thoughts. Unlike Trav and Kron, Valj’s genetic enhancements weren’t physical. He was just as strong and muscled as his mates, so he thought empathy and telepathy would be of better use to him in battle and strategy. He’d been right, except... as things were right now with their Omega locked up in the dungeon, it proved to be quite a disadvantage.

  “You touched him,” he said.

Trav raised his hands as if to show he had nothing to hide.

“I didn’t touch him like that. It was more like... a caress.”

“He is scared and cold, and you touched him. Now he feels...” Valj paused to look for the right words to express Darian’s emotions. “He feels violated.”

Trav laughed out loud. “Then he’s a drama queen because I didn’t do anything.” Bored of the conversation, he pushed past Valj and Kron and stomped into his room.
